A Bono region-based private legal practitioner, Lawyer Nana Sekyere Boateng disagrees with the school of thought calling for the setting up of another Commission of Enquiry into the recent killings at Nkoranza in the Bono East Region following the arrest and subsequent killing of Albert Donkor whom the Police allege to an armed robber which sparked ravage resulting to the death of one other young man and another seven persons sustaining various degrees of injuries.
The unfolding of events has seen many condemning the actions and inactions of the Police and are calling for independent investigations into the matter as they cannot trust the Police Professional Standards Bureau to come out with the whole truth of the issue.
Speaking in an interview, Lawyer Nana Sekyere Boateng who is also the Bono East Regional 2nd Vice Chairman of the NPP, recounted how the Commission of Enquiries set up to investigate previous incidents at Ayawaso West Wuogon, Ejura and others have failed to punish Culprits, therefore, families of the Nkoranza killings should go to the Law Court to seek true justice.
Meanwhile, Kwasi Adu Gyan, Bono East Regional Minister has pleaded with the families and good people of Nkoranza especially the youth to remain calm and let peace reign as Government will make sure justice is served at the end of the day.
Also, Daniel Yaw Owiredu, MCE for Nkoranza who has played a very instrumental role in the peace process of Nkoranza thanked his people and said it was sad all 57 Police personnel stationed in the Town have been withdrawn but was optimistic peace will continue to prevail in the municipality.
