The Eastern Regional Director of Education, Mrs. Margaret Nsiah Asamoah has urged all Municipal and District Directors of Education as well as teachers in the region to remain focused and work hard despite the challenges they currently face in their various municipalities and districts.
She said the government has immensely contributed to the infrastructural development of both basic, junior high, and senior high education in the Eastern region over the past five years which has significantly improved education in the region however a lot needs to be done to address other infrastructural deficit.
She explained that “educational challenges did not start today, it has existed from time immemorial till now and they will continue to exist, but the Eastern regional Educational Directorate will complement government effort and make a sure chunk of the challenges are addressed to help improve learning outcomes in the region”.
She, therefore, urged the Educational Directors and all teachers in the region to put into consideration the well-being and the future of the children first to strive for excellence.
Margaret Nsiah Asamoah said this during Eastern Regional Education Week Celebration in Koforidua GNAT hall where the Eastern Regional Director met all Municipal and District Directors in the region to access the performance of education, successes, challenges as well as ways to improve education in the region.
The Municipal Educational Director for Abuakwa North Municipality, Mrs. Abena Gyamera commended the Regional Director of Education Mrs. Margaret Nsiah Asamoah for the novelty.
She said the program will help the Municipal and the District Educational Directors to up their game and fill all loopholes to help improve education in the region.
She highlighted that schools in Abuakwa North Municipality, for instance, have infrastructural challenges despite efforts by the government, philanthropists, and the Member of Parliament for the area, hence she is calling on the government to expedite action to help solve the infrastructural deficit in the Abuakwa North Municipality.
