Ghana Oil Limited (GOIL) has donated 500 copies of English textbooks to the Ghana Library Authority (GLA) in Accra.
The books worth 20,000 cedis are to assist the authority to provide reading materials for children nationwide as it marks its Year of Books Campaign.
Making the donation on behalf of the Group, the Chief Executive and MD of GOIL, Kwame Osei-Prempeh, and the Public Relations Manager, Robert Kyere reiterated the company’s commitment to assisting the authority to achieve quality education and positive learning outcomes in line with Sustainable Development Goal four embraced by the company.
The acting Regional Director OF GLA for Greater Accra, Edward Addo- Yobo who received the books on behalf of the Authority thanked GOIL for its support and appealed for continued collaboration with the company to enhance its operations.
He noted that the books would go a long way to equip the various public libraries in the region.
Present at the ceremony was the Head of Finance of the Ghana Library Authority, Samuel Essuman, Head of Administration, Yaa Opare-Adu, Head of Acquisitions and Distribution, James K. Naabah among other officials of the Authority.
