A world-class ready-mix concrete plant has been commissioned to introduce modern technology in concrete production to support the construction industry in Ghana.
The Concrete firm named VPL Concrete Limited operates at full capacity with fixed and mobile concrete batching plant, mixing trucks and concrete pumps to supply Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) for players in the industry.
The Batching plant comes with an ELKOMIX-120 Quick Master Compact Concrete Plant and has an operational capacity to produce between 100-110 cubic meters per hour of vibrated concrete, therefore at such capacity, VPL is well positioned to meet very high product demand from users of Ready Mix Concrete ‘RMC’.
Commissioning VPL Concrete limited in East Legon Hills in Accra, the Board Chairman Nana Owiredu Wadie I who doubles as Nkosuohene of Kwahu Nkwatia said the introduction of the new concrete mixing technology will boost Ghana’s construction industry with quality assurance and standardization.
“Ghana has experienced a lot of growth in infrastructure over the past couple of years, this change has been driven by an investment in technology in the building and the construction sector, at VPL Concrete Limited the investment in technology such as scientific addictive laboratory and concrete trucks and concrete pumps produce in supply laboratory engineered ready mixed concrete has helped us in our quest to achieve our operation of being the reference point ‘RMC’ in Ghana a position we want to maintain going forward,

A shareholder, Director and the Managing Director of VPL company Ltd Simon Kombla Agbenyegah Ayivi stated told the media, current turbulence in the forex market has affected the construction industry but says VPL will provide quality but cost-effective products for the Ghanaian market.
“When things become tough one way to make your business survive is to try as much as possible to reduce cost and one way to do that is to source your materials from ideal places, if you have wholesome material the likelihood of having waste would reduce, as you know is a new enterprise when we reach our optimum we expect to have about forty-five employees at the moment we currently have about fifteen permanent employees and about twelve temporary staff”.
Kwadwo Yeboah Wadie, a Director and shareholder stated that the plant has advanced technology to mitigate environmental pollution that may be associated with the operation of the plant.
Founder and Senior Pastor of Agape House New Testament Church in Ghana, Rev.Dr. Richard Whitcomb has called on Ghanaians to take advantage of the abundant natural resources to create opportunities and worth.
According to him, God created these natural resources on earth to improve the living standards of humans in a sustainable way but he says it takes foresight to possess the ability to turn these resources into something viable to benefit society.
