Ghanaian duo Denis Odoi and Kamal Sowah will face Benfica in the UEFA Champions League last 16
The pair saw their Club Brugge side paired against the Portuguese giants in the knockout face in a draw held Nyon, Switzerland on Monday.
The Black Stars duo have been in a rich vein of form this campaign, featuring in a chunk of games in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League and the UEFA Champions League.
Club Brugge secured qualification to the knockout stage after placing second in Group B.
Both Odoi and Sowah will hope to beat Benfica, who are on top form to progress to the quarterfinal of the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Ghanaian trio, Mohammed Kudus, Daniel Kofi Kyereh and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku will be featuring in the UEFA Europa League for their respective clubs.
Kudus and his Ajax side dropped from the Champions League to the Europa League after placing third in Group A.
The Dutch giants will play German outfit Union Berlin in the knockout face of the Europa League.
Kudus has excelled for Ajax this campaign after being deployed as false number 9. He bagged 4 goals in 6 matches during the Champions’ League group stages.
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku will feature in the Europa League since his Sporting CP side were dropped to the European second-tier competition.
The Portuguese giants failed to progress from their group in the Champions League, placing third in Group D.
Sporting CP will face Danish outfit, Midtjylland in the knockout face of the Europa League.
Issahaku joined Sporting CP in February after explosive display with Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC but he is yet to hit the ground running in Portugal.
He made two substitute appearances for Sporting CP in the Champions League group stage.
Daniel Kofi-Kyereh and his Freiburg topped their group in the Europa League and awaits their opponent from the first round of the knockout round.
Since joining Freiburg from St Pauli, the 26-year-old has established himself as a key cog to the Bundesliga outfit.
He scored and assisted one during the group face of the Europa League.
The aforementioned players have been named in Otto Addo’s 55-man provisional squad list ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be staged in Qatar next week.
