The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has once again extended his benevolence of development-oriented leadership to the Sporting fraternity of the Upper West Region.
He has donated thousands of the 2022 FIFA World cup footballs, boots and Jerseys, which he imported from Qatar to selected football clubs across the length and breadth of the Upper West Region.
This timely intervention will surely go a long way to motivate and inspire young ones from the region to work hard and aspire to higher in their football careers.
The Rt. Hon. Speaker also sponsored some promising footballers and enterprising sports development enthusiasts from the Upper West Region to go and watch the FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar.
He assured that “We have not forgotten your renovation of the Wa Sports Stadium, construction of an Astroturf Stadium at McCoy College of Education, financial support for the Upper West Sports Authority to enable them to prepare for the National Games, just to mention but few”.
“May we produce the next Messi, CR7, Mbappe etc from the Upper West Region”?
