President Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, 28th December 2022 swore into office the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Lariba Abudu, MP; and her Deputy, Hon. Francisca Oteng-Mensah, MP, at a short ceremony at Jubilee House.
The President also swore into office two new Justices of the Supreme Court, Justice Barbara Frances Ackah-Yensu; and Justice Samuel Kwame Adibu Asiedu.
President Akufo-Addo urged the newly-sworn Justices to bear in mind that the growth of our nation demands that we have a Judiciary that commands the respect of the people by the quality of its delivery of justice, as well as by the comportment of its judges.
Application of the laws of the land must occur, in the words of the judicial oath, without fear or favour, affection or ill-will, and, therefore, without recourse to the political, religious or ethnic affiliations of any citizen of the land.
