Kumasi Metro Fire Station made history by winning the maiden Edition of the Ashanti Regional Command’s Drill and Quiz Competition held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the Ashanti Regional Headquarters in Kumasi ahead of Breman and Tepa Fire Stations.
The final competition which was fiercely contested among 3 of the finest Fire Stations in the region, was graced by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah, Representatives from Ghana Police Service , Ghana Prisons Service, Customs, OSHA UK, DVLA, Members of the Media and many others.
The Regional Fire Commander, ACFO I Henry Fatai Giwah in his address thanked all Sponsors and Personnel of the Region for their support, and especially the Committee Members who were in charge for making the dream of the Chief Fire Officer become a reality.
He reiterated the fact that the programme which began in May, 2022 has actually helped to improve the job knowledge and firefighting skills of each Personnel in the region who actively followed and participated in it.
Breman Fire Station which emerged the winners after the drills competition could not hold onto their lead as they were beaten in the quiz competition by Kumasi Metro Fire Station to become the eventual winners of the entire competition to push Breman and Tepa Fire Stations to second and third positions respectively.
