The Member of Parliament for Upper Manya Krobo in Eastern region Bismark Tetteh Nyarko has assured constituents in farming communities his commitment to reshaping deplorable roads to facilitate transportation of their farm produce to markets.
Upper Manya Krobo shares boundaries with Lower Manya Krobo Municipal to the south and Fanteakwa North District to the west respectively, to the east with Asuogyaman District, and to the north with Kwahu Afram Plains South District Assembly.
The population of the District according to 2021 population and housing census stands at 70,676 with 35,620 males and 35,056 females.
Upper Manya Krobo district covers a total estimated surface area of 894 square kilometers of the total area of Eastern Region. It is predominantly farming area which produces cassava , vegetables ,fish and domestic animals among others.
However, roads to many farming communities are deplorable.
The Member of Parliament Bismark Tetteh Nyarko since assuming office in 2021 has been lobbying the Ghana Highways Authority and Department of Feeder roads to construct roads in the area.
Although the construction of 62Km Koforidua to Asesewa highway which extend to Abuorso community started in 2021 ,work done is in slow pace due due to inconsistency of the contractor as a result of none payment by government.
The MP for the Upper Manya Krobo constituency, Bismark Tetteh Nyarko has also been thriving to rehabilitate some deplorable feeder roads through his share of the MPs common fund .
One of such roads is Odometa to Adwenso feeder road under rehabilitation.
The MP took opportunity of recession of Parliament to inspect the road.
He was hopeful the rehabilitation work will be completed on time to facilitate transportation of farm produces in the farming communities in the enclave to market centers.
The MP also used the opportunity to interact with members of the community to listen to their concerns and to find ways to address them.
Meanwhile , Bismark Tetteh Nyarko also donated 50 plastic chairs and cooking pots to a welfare association formed by 87 members from various communities under MENSAH-DAWA ELECTORAL AREA upon request for assistance from the MP.
The leader of the association, Manye Esther Naterh-Ayihiom commended the lawmaker for his closeness to the people and commitment to support alleviate poverty from the area.
Present at the ceremony were the Assembly Member of the area, Hon Sampson Atterh and some some Constituency Executive Members of the NDC party.
