The Chief Fire Officer (CFO) of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and some Management Members of the Service on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 visited the severely injured Firefighter at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra to obtain first hand information on his condition and ensure he gets the best care for full recovery.
The severely injured Firefighter was transported from the Effia Nkwanta Hospital in Takoradi to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra on Monday, January 16, 2023 for further medical treatment.
He and one other Firefighter who was treated at and discharged from the Kwesimintim Polyclinic got injured at about midnight of Saturday, January 14, 2023 when an involved structure fire they were containing collapsed on them at East Tanokrom in Takoradi.
The Medical Team at 37 Military Hospital explained the current condition of the severely injured Firefighter to the Chief Fire Officer and assured him of the best of medical treatment.
The Chief Fire Officer, Mr. Julius A. Kuunuor also thanked the Medical Team for stabilizing the injured Firefighter by means of its conservative care management since last Monday when he was brought in from the Effia Nkwanta Hospital in Takoradi.
CFO Kuunuor thus assured the Medical Team of his support and asked they do whatever it takes to restore the health of the injured Firefighter to normalcy.
The Chaplain General of GNFS, Rev DO II Isaiah Erzoah then prayed to seek restoration of health from God Almighty for the injured Firefighter. CFO and his entourage, encouraged and assured the injured Firefighter of Management’s support to him recover fully and wished him speedy recovery.
