Two armed robbers have attacked bullion van of Agricultural Development Bank on Tuesday, 3rd December 2019, killing a police officer on an escort.
According to reports, the armed robbers, with pump action guns, attacked the team led by Saviour Amuzu, inflicting wounds on the head of G/Sgt Emmanuel Chikudoh on the outskirts of 290 Community near Asempaneye in the Western North Region.
Police statement indicated that the Nissan hardbody bullion van with registration number GT 9436-17, was on its way to escort cash to the Sefwi-Wiaso branch.
The deceased is said to have died on the way to the St. John of God Hospital at Asafo with the body deposited at the same facility.
The statement added, other occupants on the van escaped unhurt, indicating, the service rifle of the deceased has been found.
Meanwhile, the police have emphasized, it has instituted an investigation into the matter to ensure the suspects are arrested.
