A mentally challenged man wandering on the streets of Akyem Kukurantumi in Abuakwa North Municipality in Eastern region has become a threat to public safety and security.
The mentally ill man has recently become violent chasing people around with cutlass and other dangerous implements.
During the weekend, he nearly killed a young man after pursuing him with a cutlass.
“The mentally challenged person almost took the life of an innocent young man. The innocent young man swerved but sustained a cut from the cutlass used by the “mad man.Some town folks who who saw what the Mad Man” bid retaliated against the mad man in a very angry manner “.An eyewitness said.
According to some residents of Akyem Kukurantumi this is not the first time the mentally challenged man has violently attacked his victim.
Some have recommended for action to be taken to get rid of the mentally challenged man from the streets before the unfortunate happens.
