About 280 residents in six farming communities in the Ayensuano district in Eastern region have been displaced by rainstorm disaster which occurred on Monday, 6th February,2023, around 2:00pm.
The affected communities are; Akokrom, Kwaboanta, Kwaboanta Junction,Onakwase, Fawotirekosie and Docrochiwa.
Akokrom is the worse hit by the rainstorm.
Houses and other facilities were destroyed whilst household items damaged.
The Assembly Member of the Electoral, supported by his able Unit Committee Members mobilised the needy displaced victims and evacuated them to a Church Premises for temporary accommodation.
The National Disaster Management Organization,NADMO,has conducted assessment report.
Considering the severity of the situation the Nadmo Assessment Team proceeded to the District Assembly to discuss the situation with the District Chief Executive, Hon.Josephine Awuku Ansaa Inkoom for immediate intervention by the Assembly.
Meanwhile assessment report has been sent to the Regional office for relief items for the the victims.
