Nana Adjei Boateng, the Member of Parliament for New Juaben North constituency and the Municipal Chief Executive of the New Juaben South Municipality Isaac Apaw-Gyasi joined Dangomba chiefs for Damba festival 2023 in the Eastern region.
The Damba festival is the most widely celebrated festival in the Northern part of Ghana among the Dagomba ethnic group.
Hon Nana Adjei Boateng, the Member of Parliament for New Juaben North Constituency called for peace and unity among the Dagomba’s in the region to help foster development in their communities.
According to the lawmaker, peace and harmony brings togetherness in communities and it promotes development and stability.
Delivering a speech at the Damba festival 2023 in the Eastern regional capital, Hon Adjei Boateng said that the celebration is an opportunity for families to reunite after a long time of separation through rural-urban migration.
He added that the government is committed to bringing development in Damba’s communities.
The MP, however, advised the youth at the festival to get involved in education to increase their chances for better career opportunities and open up new doors for themselves.
The Municipal Chief Executive of the New Juaben South Municipality, Isaac Apaw-Gyasi on his part promised that government is committed to revamp Koforidua Zongo market to an ultra-modern one.
Hon Isaac Apaw-Gyasi assured that the government is ready to bring development to their door steps and called for their support at all times.
The Dangomba chiefs used the opportunity to caution the youth to desist from electoral violence as the country is approaching its general election.
They urged the youth to take their education seriously to gain knowledge and improve confidence in their lives.
