The Upper West Regional minister, Dr. Bin Salih Hafiz chaired a meeting of the Regional Spatial Planning Committee on Wednesday afternoon.
The Regional Spatial Planning Committee is the supervisory body to review spatial planning decisions of the District Spatial Committees when necessary.
It is a technical body of the Regional Planning Coordinating Unit of the Office of the Regional Coordinating Council.
Members of the committee are drawn from various state organizations and a representative from the Regional House of Chiefs.
Fortunately, the representative of the Regional House of Chiefs is a distinguished Planner and a former Director General of the Town and Country Planning Department, Lawra Naa Puowele Karbo III.
The committee is chaired by the Honourable Regional Minister with the Regional Director of Land Use and Spatial Planning Authority (Rockson Y. Niminga-Beka) as Secretary of the committee.
However, it is sad to indicate that Mr. Rockson has been transferred to the Western Region to head LUSPA.
