Ghana’s new coach, Chris Hughton has buried his late Ghanaian father, Willie Hughton in the United Kingdom.
Hughton lost his father in February 2023, the same month after landing the Black Stars job.
On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, Chris Hughton laid his father to rest in London, which was attended by a lot of dignitaries in the European country.
The final funeral rite of Willie Hughton was attended by staff of Ghana’s High Commission in UK and members of the Ghanaian community in London.
The former Brighton coach is expected to arrive in Ghana on Thursday ahead of his unveiling on Monday, March 20.
Hughton has already announced his 25-man squad for the clash against Angola next week.
The four-time African champions will play host to Angola on March 23 at the Baba Yara Stadium before the reverse fixture in Luanda on March 27.
The Black Stars lead Group E of the qualifiers with four points, followed by Angola who are also on four points before Central African Republic and Madagascar follow in that order.
