The Inspector-General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare has ended a four-day working tour of the Savannah and Northern regions of the country.
During the tour, the IGP and some members of the Police Management Board with him paid courtesy calls on some traditional leaders and engaged members of the communities as well as Police personnel.
Among other places, the IGP and his team visited Damongo, Daboya, Salaga, Bimbila, Yendi, Busunu, Tuna, Sawla, Bole, Banda Nkwantan and Bamboi. The team also toured the Tamale township to engage residents on security in the area.
The traditional leaders in their remarks during the visit commended the IGP and the Police for the fight against robbery and other crimes in the area.
The IGP and his team also assured the chiefs and the communities that they will continue to work with them to address any outstanding security concerns.
Accompanying the IGP on the tour were the Director-General (DG) NPD, COP/Mr. Paul Manly Awini; DG/Welfare, COP/Mrs Habiba Twumasi-Sarpong; DG/Operations, COP/Mr. Mohamed Fuseini Suraji; DG/CID, DCOP Faustina A. K. Andoh-Kwofie; DCOP/Mr. Frederick K. Agyei; the Savannah Regional Police Commander, DCOP/Mr Peter Baba Atianak and the Northern Regional Police Commander, DCOP/Mr. Duuti Tuaruka.
