Hearts of Oak legend Charles Taylor has hinted at a potential return to active football as he set sights on helping salvage Ghana’s declining football.
Concerns have been raised about the decline of Ghana football following the abysmal performance showcased by the Black Meteors at the ongoing U23 AFCON in Morocco.
Just like the Black Stars, the Black Meteors suffered group stage elimination at the AFCON after failing to beat Guinea in their final Group A fixture last Friday.
However, the former Black Stars midfielder has hinted of a return to active football in order to offer valuable lessons to the players and contribute to the revitalization of Ghana football.
“If we don’t intervene, Ghana football will collapse. We have to demonstrate to them that football is played on the field not by mouth”
“Experience in football is not defined by age but someone who knows what to do with the ball. Look at Barcelona’s Gavi and Pedri, they are young but since they know what to do with the ball on the field, they are starters for both their club and country. So we should stop defining maturity with age” he said.
