Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta, Minister of Finance, is expected to give to Parliament today, July 31, the Mid-Year Review of the Government’s Budget Statement and Economic Policy, as well as Supplementary Estimates for the Fiscal Year 2023.
The Public Financial Management Act of 2016 (Act 921) and Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution both apply to the Mid-Year Fiscal Policy.
It is a review of the government’s 2023 Economic Policy and Financial Statement, which was presented to Parliament on November 24, 2022, by the Minister of Finance.
The assessment will describe the government’s strategies for adhering to the IMF’s guidelines in order to continue receiving payments from the agreed-upon assistance package.
Ghana got its first IMF payment of roughly $600 million in May. In November, a second payment is expected.
