A Stakeholders Forum aimed at promoting the compliance of a harmonized Standard Operating Procedure for Ghana’s Maritime Industry through collective action took place at the Alisa Hotel last Friday, July 28, 2023.
The Programme was organised through the collaborative efforts of the Ghana Maritime Authority, the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) and the Convention on Business Integrity (CBi).
The MACN and CBi had returned to Ghana with a Presentation on the Nigeria Module Project used to reduce corruption in Nigerian Ports.
The Programme which was a sequel to the Conference held in January 2023, was aimed at assisting Ghanaian Maritime Agencies to emulate best practices used to support the reduction of corruption in Nigeria Ports.
The Event was attended by representatives of the Office of the Special Prosecutor, the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Finance, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority and the Ghana Shippers’ Authority.
Other Agencies in attendance were the Marine Police, Ghana Anti-Corruption, Ship Owners Association of Ghana and the Regional Maritime University among others.
