Former Black Stars defender Rashid Sumaila is optimistic the Black Stars will come good with time and has therefore called on Ghanaians to exercise patience for the team.
The four-time African champions exhibited another unimpressive performance during the November international break, winning one and losing one in the two games played in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Madagascar at the Baba Yara Stadium in the opening World Cup qualification game before succumbing to a narrow defeat to Comoros at the Moroni Stadium.
Speaking to Koforidua-based Bryt FM, the former Red Star Belgrade star expressed optimism about the Black Stars team despite recent poor showing.
“They will come good as time goes on, so we should exercise patience for the boys. We should all pray and support the team no matter what is the situation” he said.
Ghana will now shift their attention to the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament to be staged in Ivory Coast between January and February 2024.
