A Deacon of the Church of Pentecost, Ada Emmanuel Assembly in Koforidua in the Eastern region, David Sabla, has been inducted into office by a High Court Judge in Accra as the new Eastern Regional Chairman of the United Nations Youth Association of Ghana (UNYA-GH).
The United Nations Youth Association- Ghana (UNYA-GH) inducted into office some newly appointed National and Regional Executives on 16th December, 2023 this year to complete the functional administrative structure of the association.
The event held at the D.F Annan Auditorium at the Parliament House of Ghana graced by representative of the Chief Justice of Ghana Her Ladyship Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo and many other dignitaries with an attendance of over 400 youth across the 16 regions of Ghana.
The National Executive Committee (NEC) , Regional Executive Committee (REC) and some special Envoys in short ceremony were inducted by the High Court Judge and later sworn in by the representative of the Chief Justice of Ghana.
At the same event , Youth MPs , Youth Ministers , Youth Justices and the leadership of the three (3) arms of the Youth Government Initiative (YGI) were inaugurated.
Addressing the media at the sidelines of the ceremony, the National Youth President of UNYA-GH H.E WH Kobina Adomadzi Longdon explained that “United Nations Youth Association Ghana (UNYA-GH) is a youth wing mandated to advocate , build capacities and mobilize support for United Nations Resolutions, Programs and Initiatives”
“We believe that people especially the youth everywhere must be actively involved at both local and global levels of decision making towards boosting the achievement of the United Nations Goals”
H.E WH Kobina Adomadzi Longdon reiterated by saying ” the Youth Government Initiative (YGI) uses simulations of the three Arms of Government , Memberships, Internships and Training on the three Arms of Government under the 1992 Constitution of Ghana”
“A new generation of patriotic young Ghanaians imbibed with the spirit , tenets and best practices of ethical legislative leadership , good governance , justice delivery , democracy , peace building , internal diplomacy and Global Citizenship practices”.
According to him, the UNYA-GH seeks to use YGI to promote sustainable youth inclusion in nation building as aspire to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
