The District Chief Executive (D.C.E) for the Asuogyaman District Assembly Hon. Samuel Kwame Agyekum on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 has advised people living with disabilities to strictly abide by the protocols of COVID-19 as outlined by the President Nana Akufo-Addo.
According to the DCE, must frequently wash their hands with soap and running water, avoid touching of the eyes and mouth with the hand and use of hand sanitizers to curtail further spread of the disease.
He disclosed this when he presented some items to some registered Persons Living With Disabilities under the Economic Empowerment Policy of the Department within the district.
Mr. Kwame Agyekum also urged the PWDs to make judicious use of the valuables for the betterment of their families.
However, the District Director of the Social Welfare and Community Development Department at the Assembly, Madam Salomey Asamoah, on her part encouraged unregistered PWDs to register with the department to access relevant support in the field of health and education aside from the economic empowerment program.
She also added that the Department will soon be procuring and distributing more items to support the PWDs to continue with the policy of making them economically dependent.
