Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Minister of Communications and Digitalization, that the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) has already lost the 2024 presidential election.
Although the elections will not take place on social media, she claims that the majority of opinions regarding the NPP’s defeat are expressed there.
According to her, if elections were held on social media, Peter Obi, the leader of the Labour Party of Nigeria, would have been elected president by now because he was the talk of the town before to the most recent elections in Nigeria.
The Ablekuma West Member of Parliament, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, continued, saying that elections would be won at the polling places.
“The job is on the ground… when people are making noise, I ask who has seen a ballot box on social media before? Have you ever seen voting taking place on Facebook or Instagram?
“We vote at the polling station, so if you have something to show, do it there; it is not about the noise. If it is about noise on social media, then Peter Obi would be the president of Nigeria by now. So, let’s be patient because the work is on the ground,” she said in Twi in an interview on Adom FM.
The lawmaker from Ablekuma West further argued that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration had done admirably well in practically every area of the economy and that he would go down in history as one of Ghana’s greatest presidents ever.
She claimed that although Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the late first president of Ghana, and former President John Agyekum Kufuor were regarded as the worst presidents in their day, opinions of them now change.
She said Ghanaians of good heart, who have witnessed and profited from the excellent works of the Akufo-Addo administration, would vote to keep the NPP in office.
