New Juaben South Municipal Assembly has announced plans for a ‘Clean Ghana Day’ initiative on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024.
This sanitation effort is part of the preparations for the grand event to be held in Koforidua, Eastern Region.
According to Edward Abazing, Municipal coordinating Director , “Koforidua will be hosting high-profile dignitaries during the Independence Day festivities, making cleanliness a top priority. Our city’s image as a center for tourism and economic activity depends on it.”
The announcement contained in a press release ” urge every citizen of New Juaben South and its environs to participate in this historic event” adding that “Cleanliness is crucial for our city’s prosperity and reputation.”
The ‘Clean Ghana Day’ activities will kick off with a Health Walk at 5:00am, followed by a Security Procession through the streets of Koforidua at 6:30am.
The highlight of the day will be a Clean-up Exercise starting at the same time, aiming to rid the city of its filth.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, echoed the call for participation, stating, “We advise all traders and motorists to suspend their activities on that day to ensure maximum involvement in the clean-up exercise.”
The initiative aims to galvanize community spirit and promote a culture of cleanliness, aligning with the adage, ‘cleanliness is next to Godliness.’
With the cooperation of residents, the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly is poised to set a shining example of civic responsibility ahead of the Independence Day Celebration on March 6th, 2024.
