The Bono Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, has urged party members to take defensive action against any attacks they may receive from opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) members.
Mr. Abronye urged NPP supporters to reply in kind rather than wasting time reporting violent occurrences to the police in a video that went popular on social media.
“When you are attacked by the NDC, don’t waste time by going to the police to lodge a complaint,” he stated, emphasizing that retaliation should be in “equal measure.”
He went on to explain his plans for the Bono Region, saying that he would kill an innocent NDC member in Sunyani in retaliation for an attack on an NPP member in Sampa.
Speaking on Wontumi FM/Movement TV, a station owned by Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Mr. Abronye made it plain that the Bono Region NPP leadership’s approach to the 2024 general elections would be “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.”
“If you fire a gun, I will fire a gun,” he asserted, vowing not to tolerate what he described as “NDC’s lawlessness and intimidation” in the Bono Region.
“You cannot do such nonsense in my region,” he added.
