Ghana today, September 17, 2024, made history by launching the Knowledge and Skills Bank Portal, the first of its kind in the country.
Ghana, therefore, becomes the second country in Africa after Egypt to have such a portal.
The portal is a testament to the government’s commitment to make education accessible to all regardless of their class in society.
Developed by a wholly-owned Ghanaian company called Npontu Technologies, it contains valuable information in line with the approved curriculum for Ghanaian students. It also grants access to over 5 million online library archives, learning resources, and tools.
With AI integrated into the portal, students will be afforded the opportunity to be tutored and can ask salient questions they could not ask in their various classes.
The portal was developed by the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation for the Ministry of Education under the erstwhile ETransform project and financed by the World Bank.
