Pentecost Senior High School (PENSEC) in Koforidua has officially launched its 25th-anniversary celebration under the theme “25 Years of Nurturing Future Leaders of Excellence and Virtue: The PENSEC Story.”
The event, held at the school premises, marked a significant milestone in the institution’s journey since its establishment by the Church of Pentecost in February 2000.
Speaking at the launch, the headmaster of PENSEC Elder Peter Atta-Gyamfi recounted the school’s growth from its humble beginnings with just 110 students and 16 staff members but now a thriving institution with over 2,000 students and 159 staff members.
He said the mission remains the same – to provide holistic education rooted in academic excellence and Christian values.
The headmaster also emphasized the school’s notable achievements in academics, sports, and other extracurricular activities. He praised the students for consistently excelling in WASSCE and regional sports competitions, while also stressing the school’s focus on instilling values of integrity and discipline in its students. “Our greatest success lies in shaping young minds to meet the demands of an ever-changing world.
Speaking on the theme: for the anniversary, the headmaster stated that “25 Years of Nurturing Future Leaders of Excellence and Virtue: The PENSEC story” resonates deeply with our vision to become a training center for Human capital. We strive to produce students who excel, not only academically, but also morally and spiritually.
“As we embark on this anniversary celebration, we reaffirm our commitment to: Providing quality education that fosters critical thinking, creativity and innovation, Nurturing students of character, integrity and virtue and Fostering a supportive community that promotes academic excellence and personal growth”.
The headmaster expressed gratitude to the leadership of the church, particularly Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye, for their continued support of the school’s mission.
The launch event was attended by the Eastern Regional Director of Education, Mrs. Ivy Asantewa Owusu (PhD), alumni, teaching and non-teaching staff, students, and representatives from the Church of Pentecost including Prophet Amaniampong RTD.

Apostle Stephen Okyere Acheampong, Effiduase Area Head of the Church of Pentecost who chaired the event assured the school of the Church’s continues support both physical and spiritual to fulfill its mission.
The 25th anniversary celebration will feature a series of activities aimed at commemorating the school’s contributions to education and the development of future leaders.
