Majority Leader of Parliament and Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin has been enstooled as Osahene of Effutu Traditional Council.
Omanhene of Effutu Traditional Council Neenyi Ghartey(vii) and his elders performed the necessary rite in Effutu to enstooled Hon. Afenyo Markin as Osahene of Effutu following his phenomenal contribution and dedication towards Development and peace in Effutu and Ghana at large.
Hon. Afenyo Markin dedication to ensure Effutu becomes the gateway to Central Region has been recognized by the chiefs and people of Effutu which on 19th November, 2024 the Effutu traditional leaders have conferred on him Osahene Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin.
Alexander Kwamena Markin addressing the the people after successful ceremony held in Effutu Kojo Bedu Durbar Grounds, appreciated the chiefs of Effutu for recognizing his contribution and hard work for Effutu and the country and honoring him with such title.
Osahene Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin pledged to establish new market square at Atekyedo to boost local businesses in Effutu.
He also outlined other three developmental projects he would be initiating within four years to support businesses and also create employment in Effutu and even beyond.
Meanwhile, the Omanhene of Effutu traditional council, Nai Ghartey on his part commended the lawmaker for his contribution to the development of the area as well as empowering constituents.
He emphasized the traditional council cannot wait for the hardworking MP to pass on before singing appellations for his good works, hence the decision to reward him with a chieftaincy title.
