Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has praised the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for his instrumental role in maintaining a stable exchange rate during his presidency.
According to Kufuor, Dr. Bawumia, who served as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana at the time, was part of a team of economic experts who helped achieve a remarkable exchange rate of one cedi to one dollar.
Kufuor made these remarks when Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin honored him, President Kufuor, and the NPP’s vice-presidential candidate, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, for their contributions to Ghana’s development.
The former president urged voters to endorse Dr. Bawumia for effective leadership, describing him as the right person to entrust with the country’s future.
Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin also commended Kufuor for his dedication to Ghana’s development and encouraged Ghanaians to heed the former president’s testimonies about Dr. Bawumia’s capabilities.
