The Ghana Health Service and Zipline Ghana have reaffirmed their commitment to improving healthcare access nationwide with a significant expansion of their vaccine delivery program.
Since 2019, Zipline has been delivering lifesaving medical supplies to hard-to-reach communities in Ghana using drones, supported by the GAVI vaccine alliance.
Now with renewed backing from GAVI, Zipline will expand its operations to 68 districts facing significant access challenges from 2024 to 2026.
This expanded partnership aims to address critical gaps in vaccination coverage in underserved regions by scaling up the delivery of essential vaccines, including new immunization programs.
It will also contribute to ongoing research on the impact of drone delivery systems on public health while providing valuable insights into cost-effective healthcare distribution models.
