The Eastern Regional Directorate of the Electoral Commission has announced certified presidential election results from 30 out of 33 constituencies, which have been transmitted to the Electoral Commission’s headquarters.
According to the Regional Director of the EC, John Appiah, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (NPP) secured : 493,234 votes (51.28%) while John Dramani Mahama (NDC): 453,234 votes (47.12%)

Nana Kwame Bediako (Independent): 6,910 votes, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen (Independent): 1,851 votes.
Total valid votes stood at 961,885, while rejected ballots amounted to 21,477.
While agents for the NDC, CPP, and Nana Kwame Bediako (Cheddar) signed the final results, representatives of the NPP were absent.
Alhaji Sidi Bello, the Eastern Regional Director of Elections for the NDC, expressed satisfaction with the results, highlighting the party’s increased votes in the region. Lawyer Isaac Larbi, Director of Legal Affairs for the NDC, noted that the party would assess the situation in the disputed constituencies to determine its next course of action.
The remaining results from the three disputed constituencies—Akwatia, Suhum, and Fanteakwa North—are expected to be resolved before final collation.
