Sammy Gyamfi, the Precious Minerals Marketing Company’s (PMMC) acting managing director, has reiterated President John Dramani Mahama’s pledge to refrain from imposing onerous levies on Ghanaians.
Speaking prior to Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson’s 2025 budget announcement, Mr. Gyamfi referred to the next budget as a “budget of hope,” one that aims to ease existing financial strains rather than add to them.
He gave Ghanaians the assurance that the NDC government’s commitment to restarting the economy would be reflected in the 2025 budget, which would place a high priority on creating jobs for all citizens, regardless of party membership.
“I can tell you that this budget will not introduce any draconian taxes like they did when they were in government. This budget is a budget of hope. It will ease hardships, not impose them,” he emphasized.
“This is a budget that will create jobs, not collapse them like they did. We do not have to speculate at all,” Mr. Gyamfi added.
