President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in Hon. Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini, Member of Parliament for Tamale North, as Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways in a brief ceremony in Accra.
Hon. Suhuyini brings a wealth of experience in public administration, development management, politics and media.
As a seasoned politician, Hon. Suhuyini has served as the Ranking Member of the Lands and Forestry Committee of Parliament and on the Appointments Committee.
In 2013, he was appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as a board member of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). He also served as Communications Manager for the National Hajj Council (Ghana) in 2014.
He holds an M.Sc in Development Management and an B.Sc in Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
Before entering politics, Hon. Suhuyini had a successful career as a radio presenter, starting at Diamond FM in Tamale. He later moved to Accra, where he worked with Citi FM and Metro TV before joining Radio Gold.
At Radio Gold, he hosted two flagship programs: the “Gold Power Drive” morning show and the “Alhaji and Alhaji” talk show, which focused on socio-economic and political current affairs.
