New Delhi, India – Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, is in India for bilateral engagements at the invitation of his Indian counterpart, His Excellency Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
This marks Ablakwa’s first official trip outside Africa since assuming office, and he expressed delight that his maiden visit is to India, describing the country as a “reliable, trusted, and historical partner” with whom Ghana shares strong South-South development aspirations dating back to the era of Kwame Nkrumah and Jawaharlal Nehru.
During his visit, Ablakwa will also participate in the 10th-anniversary edition of the Raisina Dialogue, India’s premier conference on geopolitics and international affairs.
The visit is expected to further strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between Ghana and India.
