President John Dramani Mahama has acknowledged Dr. (Mrs) Beatrice Wiafe Addai President of Breast Care International and Co-Chair of the Global Health Catalyst Summit for her relentless commitment to the fight against Breast Cancer in Ghana.
According to President Mahama, Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai’s advocacy and interventions over the years have helped saved many women from the scourge of the disease.
President Mahama made the public recognition of her efforts in Kwahu in Eastern Region at the Assemblies of God Church during the Easter Sunday.
Dr. Wiafe Addai stressed the urgency of tackling the disease, revealing that at least 8,000 breast cancer patients died between 2021 and 2024 due to late hospital visits.
Dr. Wiafe Addai who is also CEO of Peace and Love Hospital lauded President John Dramani Mahama for his unwavering support in the fight against breast cancer in Ghana.
According to Dr. Wiafe Addai, President Mahama remains the only Ghanaian leader to have participated in the breast cancer awareness walk on three occasions, with a promise to join again this year.

She urged Ghanaians to take Breast Cancer fight as personal project just as President Mahama has.
“I want all of us to take it as a personal thing not a problematic of that woman someone. It is a problem of all of us . Our women keep dying from this disease, young women. For the black woman breast cancer doesn’t strike when she is very old so our young women in their 20s , 30s they are dying so we all need to put our heads together we all need to join in the fight” She said.
She added that ” I appreciate a lot I am humbled that the president even acknowledged the work that Breast Care International has been doing over the years and I am very sure that if we all join in the fight we I’ll reduce the number of women dying needlessly from breast cancer”.
