The Aduana Royal Family in Akyem Etwereso and Osenase in the Eastern Region have rendered an apology to Okyenhene and Akyem Abuakwa Traditional council following attempted breakway by Odauman.
At a press conference held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the Etwereso Funeral Grounds under heavy security, the Aduana Royal Family of Osenase and Etwereso publicly dissociated itself from the claims and rendered an unreserved apology to the Okyenhene and the Akyem Abuakwa State.
According to the family, they represent the principal stool elders and insisted that their allegiance remains firmly rooted in the Ofori Panin Stool.
The family explained that from time immemorial, Etwereso and Osenase have remained subordinate to the Ofori Panin Stool, with Odau recognized as a sub-stool under its authority.
They emphasized that the Okyenhene remains the allodial owner of all lands within Akyem Abuakwa, including Etwereso and Osenase, and no individual has the authority to unilaterally sever that long-standing relationship.
The statement follows a recent press conference by one Osei Afrifa, who claimed to be the Twafohene of Etwereso and announced a breakaway of allegiance from the Akyem Abuakwa State.
However, the Aduana Royal Family rejected the move, describing it as uncustomary, unlawful, and treasonable.
They stressed that they had never given consent to any such decision and would not support any attempt to break away from the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council under the leadership of Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin.
The family further warned that such actions could have led to serious conflict in the past and reaffirmed their commitment to peace and established traditional authority.
They also indicated that steps would soon be taken to determine the fate of Kwaku Ayebiahwe, who has been linked to the controversial actions.
Meanwhile, security remains on high alert in the area as authorities continue to monitor the situation.
