Hon. Nana Osei-Adjei, the Member of Parliament for the New Juaben North Constituency, has officially launched a scholarship fund aimed at supporting academically gifted students, with a strong focus on empowering young women in the constituency.
The initiative, according to the MP, is designed to provide financial assistance to young women pursuing studies in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), computer science, and medicine.
Hon. Osei-Adjei explained that the scholarship seeks to break barriers and open doors for female students to reach higher levels of academic and professional achievement. He emphasized that the fund also aims to bridge the educational gap within the constituency.
He further noted that the scholarship is not limited to a select group but will benefit all constituents who demonstrate academic excellence and commitment to their studies.
Hon. Osei-Adjei stated that investing in the education of young women is a strategic move toward national development, as it equips them with the skills and knowledge needed to contribute meaningfully to society. He added that the scholarship scheme is not only about academic excellence but also about creating opportunities for long-term success and leadership.
“We want to ensure that every brilliant student, regardless of background or circumstance, has the chance to pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to society,” he stated.
The MP made these remarks during the Easter Convention organized by the Effiduase Area of The Church of Pentecost. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the importance of community support in nurturing young talent and encouraged parents and guardians to prioritize education.
In addition to supporting female students, Hon. Osei-Adjei noted that the scholarship fund will also extend assistance to children of physically challenged parents, helping to ease the financial burden on families and ensuring that no child is denied access to quality education due to economic hardship.
The launch of the scholarship fund has been widely welcomed by church members, who see it as a timely intervention that will open doors for many young people and contribute to the overall development of the constituency.
