The Member of Parliament for New Juaben North Constituency, Hon. Nana Osei-Adjei, has donated a range of medical equipment to the Akwadum Health Center to enhance healthcare delivery in the area.
The donation forms part of his commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and improving access to quality healthcare services within the constituency.
Speaking during the presentation, the lawmaker indicated that the gesture fulfills a promise he made to residents, particularly indigent patients who rely on the facility for care.
He further assured the community that similar support would soon be extended to the Asikasu Health Center as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure across the constituency.
Hon. Osei-Adjei urged the management of the Akwadum Health Center to ensure the proper maintenance and use of the equipment so that it serves its intended purpose effectively and benefits the community for years to come.
Receiving the items on behalf of the facility, Salima Salami, a Physician Assistant at the center, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the MP. She noted that the equipment would significantly improve service delivery and help healthcare workers provide better care to patients.
“This intervention is timely and will help us provide better services, especially for mothers and children,” she said.
The Queen Mother of Akwadum, Nana Addowaa Anima, also commended the MP for his timely intervention. She noted that the donation would bring immense relief to residents, many of whom struggle with limited healthcare facilities. She described the gesture as a step toward bridging healthcare gaps and improving the well-being of families in the constituency.
The donated items, valued at approximately GH¢90,000, include a hydraulic theatre bed, ICU three-crank beds, delivery sets, baby cots, detergents, and baby diapers. The support is expected to boost the facility’s capacity to provide quality maternal and general healthcare services.
