The Senior Staff Association (SSA) of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has revealed that the immediate past Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ing. Mark Awuah Baah, continues to urge engineers to prioritise the restoration of electricity supply despite his recent removal from office.
National Chairman of the SSA, Wisdom Kojo Adenyo, disclosed that Ing. Baah remains committed to ensuring power is restored across the country following the recent disruption. He described the former Acting CEO as an experienced technocrat and a calm leader who continues to act in the national interest.
Mr. Adenyo further indicated that although the decision to remove Ing. Baah came as a surprise to many within the organisation, he remains in good spirits and focused on the task at hand.
The development follows a directive by the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, instructing Ing. Baah to step aside pending investigations into a fire outbreak at the Akosombo Power Control Centre, which has significantly affected electricity supply nationwide.
Speaking on Bryt FM’s Adekyee Mu Nsem Morning Show with Kwamina Sam Biney, Mr. Adenyo assured the public that GRIDCo engineers are actively on the ground, working diligently to restore power, with measures in place to achieve set targets.
