President John Dramani Mahama has informed the people of the Eastern Region—and Ghanaians in general—of his steadfast commitment to fulfilling all campaign pledges.
As part of his “Thank You Tour,” President Mahama spoke to a sizable crowd at Koforidua Jackson Park on Sunday, July 20. He pledged to keep the people’s faith and conveyed his sincere gratitude for their support during the 2024 elections.
“Thanks for the warm reception,” he said to a cheering audience. “Due to the confidence reposed in me by electing me once again as President, I promise not to disappoint you. With the grace of God, we will fulfil all our promises to the Eastern Region and Ghanaians as a whole.”
The gathering in Koforidua was a significant stop on Mahama’s post-election tour, which aims to thank voters, reaffirm the goals of his administration, and reinforce relationships with local communities nationwide. The crowd of supporters and local party leaders waved National Democratic Congress (NDC) merchandising and sang party slogans.
Mahama’s comments mirrored his larger theme of solidarity, inclusive growth, and a fresh emphasis on health care, education, infrastructure, and job creation—all of which he emphasized during the 2024 campaign.
At the event, local leaders and traditional authorities praised the President’s pledge and demanded immediate attention to the region’s development issues, such as young unemployment and road infrastructure.
