Defence Minister Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah has announced a massive expansion of the Ghana Armed Forces
Over the next three to four years, 12,000 new personnel will be recruited into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), strengthening our nation’s defence and providing excellent career opportunities.
New, fair recruitment guidelines will be out by August 2025, ensuring opportunities for all deserving Ghanaians, based purely on merit.
A new, optional National Service Emergency Response Readiness Programme will also kick off in August. Ten thousand volunteers will receive military training to boost their skills and contribute to national readiness. This is a fantastic chance to build discipline and serve Ghana!
Under President John Dramani Mahama, the GAF and the Ministry of Defence are committed to 100% merit-based recruitment.
The Minister issued a warning to Ghanaians:
- DO NOT pay anyone for enlistment! 2. Report any fraudsters to the nearest police station or military barracks.
- Your dream of serving Ghana should be based on your abilities, not on money!
