Solomon Kwame Asumadu, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate in the Akwatia by-election, paid a heartfelt homage to the late Ernest Yaw Kumi, promising to uphold his memory and continue his incomplete vision for the constituency.
Asomadu spoke to the people of Akwatia with a strong sense of purpose and respect at his official introduction at the NPP’s Constituency Conference and campaign.
“Hon Ernest Yaw Kumi, rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord,” he said. “I promise to continue the good works you began for Akwatia and to bring victory home for the New Patriotic Party.”
He pledged to uphold and forward the goals set forth by the previous MP, whose untimely death left a void in the constituency’s political climate. Asomadu invited people to come together in favor of him, describing his campaign as a continuation of that legacy.
“We must work together. Without unity, we risk appearing divided and weak,” he stressed. “Let us come together, rally around this campaign, and win this by-election as one strong party.”
