Dr Richard Nsenkyire, a member of the Black Stars management committee has declared Thomas Partey’s readiness for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualification games against Chad and Mali.
The West African powerhouse returns to action in September for the continuation of the World Cup qualifying series. Ghana will travel to face Chad on September 4 before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium four days later.
Ahead of the games, head coach Otto Addo has unveiled his squad, with Partey making the cut despite recent rape allegations in the United Kingdom.
However, Nsenkyire, who doubles as the bankroller of Samartex has moved to clarify the situation at hand, insisting Partey is motivated for the upcoming duels.
“Otto Addo is in touch with all the players, and I believe if Thomas Partey was not ready to play, he would have informed the head coach and the technical team, but I believe that he is ready and motivated to play against Chad and Mali,” he told Asempa FM.
Having the 30-year-old midfielder available adds both tactical flexibility and leadership on the pitch.
Over the years, Partey has earned a reputation as one of Africa’s most influential midfielders, combining defensive strength with an ability to orchestrate play from deep. His presence is likely to give Otto Addo more options in terms of formation and style of play, particularly against Mali’s dynamic midfield and Chad’s more defensive approach.
For Partey, these matches represent an opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to the national team following recent injury setbacks. Fans will be eager to see him lead from the front and deliver the kind of commanding performances that have made him a cornerstone of Ghana’s midfield for nearly a decade.
Ghana sit top in Group I, accumulating 15 points after six matches, followed Comoros with (12) points, Madagascar (10), Mali (9), Central Africa Republic (5), with Chad yet to secure a point in the group.
