A tragic road crash has just occurred at Atwemamena, near Akyem Asafo, along the Accra–Kumasi highway.
Reports indicate that a private car collided head-on with a speeding Kia truck from the opposite direction. The impact caused the car to somersault before bursting into flames.
Eyewitnesses say they fear some occupants may have been trapped inside the burning vehicle.
Emergency services, including the Police and Fire Service, are yet to arrive at the scene.
A resident Kofi Boye described the accident as serious adding it has caused gridlock on the highway.
