Salam Mustapha, National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed strong concerns over the arrest of the party’s Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye.
Addressing journalists outside the Accra Circuit Court on Tuesday, September 9, Mr. Mustapha stated that the detention and prosecution of NPP members by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) would not go unanswered.
Mr. Baffoe was arrested on Monday, September 8, by the Ghana Police Service on charges of “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of public peace.” He was taken into custody the following day and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, September 12.
The police confirmed that he remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
