Awutu-Beraku – School Children and Residents of Awutu Beraku in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region have been saved by Emasa Rural Bank after providing the community with two portable drinking water to curb the menace of water crisis that has hits over 18 Districts within the region over Galamsey.

Currently, the Ghana Company Water Treatment Plant located at Agona Kwanyako in the Agona East District which supplying water to residents in Awutu Beraku, Bawjiase, Agona Swedru, Asafo, Awutu Bontrase, and other surrounding Districts have been shut down for almost two months.
Water consumption have been the other of the day bringing additional cost to residents particularly parents to manage their wards and school children finding it difficult to keep safe hygiene at various private and public schools.

The bank taken upon themselves to bring relief to residents and school children have sited one of portable drinking water at the Awutu D/A and A.M.E Zion JHS School respectively to enable the school children have access and siting the other one at “Kwasi Gyan”, a surburb within the Awutu Beraku Township.
Chief Executive Officer of the Awutu Emasa Rural Bank, Maxwell Mensah speaking to Bryt Fm News correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah said the bank tot it wise to take this initiative at this difficult moment as part of their coperate social responsibility to save lives.
Mr. Mensah believes this will surely bring relief among school children and their customers in the Awutu Beraku Community.

Board Chairperson of the Bank, Madam Diana Brown Hooper encouraged residents of the community particularly Newly Posted Teachers, Market Women, Traders, Nananom, and all to consider doing business with the bank, by opening an account and buying shares to help grow and sustain the Bank.
This, they can do more for the community to also benefit.
Meanwhile, Some school children together with some residents who spoked to Bryt Fm News have also commended the Bank for the timely intervention since the challenge was unbearable.

They have vowed to take proper care of it and maintain it well to serve its purpose in which it was provided.
