Ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) highly anticipated presidential primary on January 31, 2026, flagbearer candidates have cast ballots for their spots on the ballot.
On Friday, October 10, 2025, at the party’s headquarters in Accra, Kennedy Agyapong, a former MP for Assin Central, drew the top spot, putting him at the top of the poll.
Former Agriculture Minister Dr. Bryan Acheampong chose the second spot, and former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is seen as a leading candidate, chose the third.
Former party general secretary Kwabena Agyepong and former education minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum came in fourth and fifth, respectively.
In accordance with internal election standards published on July 29, the NPP’s National Elections Committee oversaw the ballot.
