A Security Consultant, Dr. Metle Nunoo, has expressed deep concern over the increasing circulation of illegal firearms in the country, calling for urgent and thorough operations by security agencies to address the situation.
Speaking on Bryt FM’s Adekyee Mu Nsem on Bryt 99.1 fm, Dr. Metle Nunoo said the growing number of weapons in the system poses a serious threat to national security. He questioned how individuals are able to access guns so easily when such weapons are not sold in markets or supermarkets.
He noted that the presence of many illegal weapons indicates a larger underlying problem that must be urgently investigated. According to him, “If people can hold guns anyhow, then we must ask serious questions about where these weapons come from and who is behind their circulation.”
Dr. Nunoo urged the security agencies to intensify their operations with professionalism and integrity, emphasizing the need for collective national effort to restore public safety.
