REPORT ON CLEAN-UP EXERCISE AT GYAMFIKROM CHPS COMPOUND
By: Hon. Daniel Twumasi Kankam – Assemblyman, Gyamfikrom Electoral Area
Date: December 6, 2025
- Introduction
As part of ongoing efforts to promote community health, sanitation, and environmental responsibility within the Gyamfikrom Electoral Area, a collaborative clean-up exercise was organised at the Gyamfikrom CHPS Compound on Friday, December 5, 2025, which also marked a national holiday (Farmers’ Day). This initiative was undertaken by my office in partnership with the Management of the Gyamfikrom CHPS Compound and the Christ Embassy Church in Dabiasem.
The exercise was also specially undertaken in honour of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, whose birthday fell on the same day. In recognition of his exemplary humanitarian and community-impact legacy, members of the church deemed it appropriate to mark the day with service, cleanliness, and community action.

- Purpose of the Exercise
The clean-up exercise had the following objectives:
1. Prepare the CHPS Compound for the Christmas season, ensuring a clean, welcoming, and hygienic environment for health service delivery.
2. Promote sanitation consciousness among residents and facility users.
3. Strengthen community collaboration between local leadership, health authorities, and faith-based institutions.
4. Honour Pastor Chris Oyakhilome by dedicating the day to an activity that reflects his commitment to community well-being and service.
- Activities Undertaken
The joint team embarked on a thorough clean-up exercise which included:
• Sweeping of the compound and surrounding paths
• Removal of weeds and overgrown bushes
Members of Christ Embassy Dabiasem played a key role in mobilising volunteers, while the Assemblyman together with the CHPS management team facilitated the event.
- Benefits of Cleaning Up Our Environment
Environmental cleanliness is directly connected to public health, community pride, and sustainable development. The clean-up activity at the Gyamfikrom CHPS Compound reflects a broader commitment to maintaining a healthy and thriving community.
- Conclusion
The clean-up exercise at the Gyamfikrom CHPS Compound was a resounding success. It demonstrated the power of collaboration between the Assembly, the health sector, and faith-based organisations. The initiative not only enhanced the cleanliness and appeal of the CHPS facility but also contributed to public health preparedness as we approach the Christmas festivities.
I extend my sincere appreciation to the management of the Gyamfikrom CHPS Compound, members of Christ Embassy Dabiasem, and all volunteers who participated. Together, we reaffirm our commitment to building a cleaner, healthier, and more united community.
